Top Tips for Decorating a Living Room

Properly decorating the living room in your holiday home is a very important task. A well decorated living room provides a soothing welcome atmosphere for the guests. If you’re planning to rent your property during the holidays, a good looking living room will give a good first impression. Although renting out your property is not necessarily on first impressions, a good start will improve your chances of attracting more tenants.

The Chairs and Television

Your chair and the television are the most important and dominant objects in your living room. Don’t just scatter the chairs or place them in a lined up order since the place will end up looking like a classroom instead of a living room. Place the chairs around the television so that everyone will have a view of the entertainment appliance. Chairs surrounding the television will also look nice in the living room because of the smooth (not stiff when lined up) order of things at home.

Tables with Storage Options

If you’re adding tables in your living room (which you should), always consider tables with additional compartments. Food can be placed on top of the table while magazines and books can be placed inside the compartment. This will maintain the beauty of the living room because it will limit clutter.

The Right Color Combination

Color combination in your living room can be a little bit tricky. But here’s the safest trick that will make your living room look amazing: use neutral colors (grey, white, black, ivory) as your wall and focus on colorful ornaments. The ornaments will provide the needed hue in the living room and guests will feel spacious and relaxed.

Although I understand the nature of this post (holiday homes), some tips are very nice for just at home as well.

I really like dinning tables with storage facilities, I use them exactly how it has been mentioned here.
And the chairs and sofa around the television? Wouldn't know any better position for them!
