3 ways to make your guests book again next year

For anyone renting out a property short term, there are a few things that make life easier and less stressful. And the way you can make this happen is by going the extra mile for your guests, to make sure their stay is as convenient as possible.

So as well as making sure the basics like cleaning are sorted, you can add to their experience by adding a few special touches, all of which will more than pay for itself if it means the guests come back next year.

Condiments and food

Nobody likes arriving after a long journey to find they can’t make a brew. By making sure your cupboards are stocked with the basics like tea, coffee, ketchup and even the odd packet of dried pasta, you will be making sure your guests won’t spend half their trip grocery shopping.

Maps and inventories

One of the most frustrating things that can happen on holiday is getting lost or not being able to find what you’re looking for, whether it be an attraction or a light switch. Make sure your guests can find their way around both your property and the wider area by leaving a map and an inventory so they know where all the switches are and which keys unlock which door.

Entertainment

This applies especially if you’re letting in less sunny climes, and doesn't involve being on-hand to sing for your guests. Just give them something to do on a rainy day. This doesn't have to cost the earth, but a decent selection of DVDs (available cheap second hand) and board games can turn a cloudy day sunny.

Remember, you’re not just letting bricks and mortar – you’re selling an experience. By helping to make sure your guests’ memories of their stay are pleasant, they’re more likely to come back again or recommend it to their friends, which is ultimately to your benefit.
